Come as you are. We'll do the rest.
Everything worth knowing before your first visit, from what to bring (almost nothing) to the small tricks that make a float even deeper.
Six small things that make a big difference
None of these are rules. They just make a lovely float even lovelier.
Eat light, not none
A small bite an hour or two before is perfect. A rumbling tummy is the loudest thing in a float pod.
Go easy on caffeine
Skip the coffee for a few hours beforehand so your mind can settle properly.
Shave earlier, not just before
Freshly shaved skin plus salt water can tingle. Give it a few hours' gap.
Skip oils and fake tan
Come with clean skin and hair, free of anything that could wash into the water.
Arrive 15 minutes early
Time for a cuppa, a chat and the full tour, with no rush on you.
Leave the phone in your locker
The world will keep for an hour. That's rather the point.
Bring yourself. We've the rest covered.
Towels, earplugs, showers, shampoo, conditioner and a warm relaxation room with tea: all included. Contact lens wearers might bring a case and solution, and that's genuinely it.
Wear whatever's comfortable. Most people float with nothing at all, since every room is completely private, though you're welcome to bring swimwear if you prefer.
Three small tips for a deeper float.
One: don't try to relax. Just lie back and let the water do the work. Trying is the opposite of floating.
Two: if your mind chatters, let it. It runs out of things to say, usually around the ten-minute mark.
Three: experiment a little. Door open or closed, light on or off, arms up or down. Your float, your rules.
