Sore back, broken sleep, tired muscles? Lie down for an hour.
An hour floating in warm, salt-rich water, with nothing pressing on anything and nothing asked of you. Floaters tell us about the best sleep in months, backs and shoulders that finally get a rest, and legs that recover while you do precisely nothing. Floats €69. Five years floating Limerick, on Church Road in Raheen.

Customer reviewWhat floaters tell us
Five years and a great many floats in, the same stories keep finding their way back to us. Here are the four we hear most.
The sleep
The night after a float is the thing floaters mention most. "I slept like a baby for a full week after it," as one review put it, and lines like that come back to us week after week.
Backs and shoulders
In water this rich with salt, you weigh nothing. Nothing to hold up, nothing to brace against. Floaters carrying stubborn backs and shoulders tell us an hour of that is the best rest their body gets all month.
After hard training
Runners, gym-goers and GAA players float the day after a heavy session. They tell us their legs thank them for it, and that the quiet does as much good as the salt.
The settling
Dark, quiet, warm, and the world kept firmly outside. "The minute you walk into the place you can feel stress falling off you," one floater told us, and the calm tends to outlast the hour by a good stretch.
Why lying in salt water does anything at all
The water is warm and rich with Epsom salt, so you float effortlessly on the surface with no pressure on your joints, your back or your shoulders. No light, no noise, no gravity worth speaking of. For one full hour your body has absolutely nothing to do, and it turns out that is rare enough to be remarkable. The rest of the hour is entirely your own.
Your hour, simply
No experience needed and nothing to bring. Towels, earplugs, showers and a warm welcome are all waiting for you.
1. Arrive and be minded
The team walks you through everything on your first visit. A quick shower, then into your own private room. If the lid worries you, it can stay open, and our double Starlight room has no lid at all.
2. Float
Lie back and let the salt do the holding. The water is ten inches deep and so dense you cannot sink, swimmer or not. Lights on or off, music or silence, entirely your call.
3. Head home lighter
Shower off the salt, take your time, and notice how the evening feels. Floaters tell us the night after is the best bit.
